Clint Eastwood Praises Jamie Cullum for Bringing Entertainment Value to Jazz
'You jumped off the piano... I thought, 'Hey, this guy's going somewhere!',' the actor shares on how he becomes a fan of the British musician.

Hollywood veteran Clint Eastwood has opened up about his love of jazz music in a rare interview with British musician Jamie Cullum. The "Dirty Harry" legend and Cullum became unlikely pals after the jazz pianist composed the main score for Eastwood's 2008 drama "Gran Torino".

And the actor/director has chosen the diminutive star's BBC Radio 2 show to talk about his love of all things jazz. Cullum says, "Interviewing Clint Eastwood for my Radio 2 show was a true honor. He was overflowing with stories, good humor and enthusiasm for the chance to discuss his favorite topic - music. He has spent a lifetime immersed in jazz and not only picked some great music to listen to but had superb stories to weave around them."

And in the interview, Eastwood admits he's a huge fan of Cullum's work, saying, "You jumped off the piano... I thought, 'Hey, this guy's going somewhere!' I did feel that you were bringing an entertainment value to jazz, or swing or blues or whatever you were playing... that had long been missing. I became a fan on that evening. It's a rare opportunity for me to be on the Jamie Cullum show, it's always fun to talk about music."

The chat was recorded in Eastwood's studio in Los Angeles and will be aired in two parts in the U.K. in September.
