Will Ferrell Needs Fans' Help to Revive 'Anchorman'
Admitting that the budget issue is still their number one problem of not producing the sequel, Ferrel suggests fans to write to Paramount.

Will Ferrell has urged fans to put pressure on executives at film studio Paramount to agree to an "Anchorman" sequel after plans were axed due to mounting costs. "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" - starring Ferrell as a dim-witted newsreader - was a cult hit among moviegoers on its release in 2004 and director Adam McKay wants to bring the comedy back for a follow-up.

Chiefs at Paramount have so far rejected director McKay's plans due to financial issues, and now Ferrell is calling on fans of the film to write to the studio to show their support for a sequel. He says, "We want to make it but now it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Maybe the fans should write in to the studio and get something changed because it's not looking good."

"We were ready to go after they had wanted the movie made, then it was basically like, 'Yeah! Do it for 20 dollars!' So right now it's kind of like the ball is in their court."
