The 'American Idol' alum says she wants to appear on Broadway stage but still waits for the part that is 'quite the right match for' her.
Singer Katharine McPhee wants to follow in the footsteps of her fellow "American Idol" star Jordin Sparks and hit the Broadway stage - but she insists on waiting for the perfect part. The pop star admits she has turned down a string of offers in recent years but she's still keen to work in New York theater.
She tells America's OK! magazine, "I have never done Broadway. I studied musical theater, so I have a background for it. There's been opportunities, but not quite the right match for me yet. But I would love to do Broadway one day."
Sparks is set to make her Broadway debut in hit musical "In the Heights" this August for a 12-week run.
McPhee, in the meantime, has released her sophomore album "Unbroken" in January.
