The veteran comedian, along with Phylicia Rashad, agrees to take the duty to boost the profile of 'Through the Night' which is going to open on September 26.

Bill Cosby and Phylicia Rashad are using their celebrity to boost the profile of Off-Broadway play "Through the Night" after signing on as 'artistic ambassadors' for the show. The Daniel Beaty play, about a number of characters who have an epiphany on the same evening, is scheduled to begin previews on September 10.

And producers hope to attract theater-goers to the show by enlisting Cosby and Rashad, along with actress Ruby Dee and actor Brian Stokes Mitchell, to make personal appearances and work on audience development activities. "Through the Night" is scheduled to open on September 26.

Bill Cosby is best known for starring in situation comedy series "The Cosby Show". After the hit show ended in 1992, the actor embarked on a number of other projects, including TV-movie "I Spy Returns", TV series "The Cosby Mysteries" as well as film feature "Fat Albert".
