Melissa Etheridge's former partner has filed for custody of the couple's twins. Actress Tammy Lynn Michaels, who was impregnated by a donor sperm and carried the kids to term, wants full legal and physical custody of Miller and Johnnie, according to the documents filed on Thursday, July 8.
Rocker Etheridge previously asked for joint legal and physical custody when she lodged a petition for dissolution of a domestic partnership in Los Angeles County Superior Court last week, on July 2. The "Come to My Window" hitmaker announced the split in April, almost seven years after she exchanged vows with Michaels in a commitment ceremony. Michaels is also asking for spousal support.
Beside asking for joint legal and physical custody, Melissa Etheridge also filed a motion asking a judge to reject any potential claim for financial support from Michaels.
