During his performance at the June 27 event, the 'Superstition' hitmaker invited the event organizer Michael Eavis on to the stage to praise his work over the last 40 years.

Stevie Wonder paid tribute to Britain's Glastonbury Festival as he topped the bill on Sunday night, June 26 by dedicating his hit song "Happy Birthday" to the event's 40th anniversary. The festival at Worthy Farm in Somerset, south-west England saw stars including Gorillaz, Muse, Kylie Minogue, Scissor Sisters and Snoop Dogg perform to thousands of revelers over the weekend-long bash.

The "Superstition" hitmaker headlined on Sunday to close the festivities and surprised the crowd by bringing event organizer Michael Eavis on to the stage to praise his work over the last 40 years. Wonder told revelers, "I want to thank this wonderful man who's had this for 40 years. Yes, 40 years. It's a celebration. Happy Birthday. Michael Eavis..." He then broke into song, performing "Happy Birthday" as Eavis, who founded the event in 1970, joined in on vocals.

While Stevie Wonder took his stage by praising the festivities' organizer Michael Eavis, Ray Davies paid tribute to his former The Kinks bandmate Pete Quaife. Davies told fans, "I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for him." The star and Quaife founded The Kinks in 1962. Davies had a thrill for the festival goers - he brought the Crouch End Festival Choir onstage with him to perform a string of Kinks hits.
