The Elena of 'Vampire Diaries' opens up that she once tried to adopt British accent when visiting London but failed to fool the natives.
"The Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev puts her acting skills to the test by adopting foreign accents when she travels - to fool locals into thinking she's one of them. The Bulgarian-born star, who grew up in Canada, admits she often tries to go unnoticed when she visits other countries.
She says, "The British accent is really cool. I went to London... We were doing a press tour and I'm shopping for shoes and I decided to play a character. I'm an actress - I like to be different people."
But Dobrev admits it's hard to fool natives, especially as she becomes more famous. She adds: "I got busted! The girl was looking like me and she's like, 'You're not from here, why are you speaking like that?' "
