"The Addams Family" actress Christina Ricci is rushing to settle her debts after she was accused of failing to pay a massive tax bill. The former child star has received a lien from officials at the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, filed earlier this month, which claims she owes $179,568 in taxes from 2008.

Ricci's spokesperson tells TMZ.com the actress only learned of the lien on Wednesday, April 21 and is taking "immediate action to address it in a responsible manner".

Another celebrity who is also tangled in tax problem is Pamela Anderson. She has allegedly failed to pay a staggering $493,000 in income tax installments and blamed "events out of my control" for the failure to pay. Most recently, she tweeted, "All of my tax obligations will be resolved in the very near future."

I totally agree with Artist. It's also interesting how Nicolas Cage, Christina Ricci, Pamela Anderson, and Marc Anthony all got more of a free pass than Wesley Snipes did. Why the special treatment of not going to trial for them?

Of course, she and other "stars" will only have to pay a small portion of the total bill. Quite frankly, pay like the rest of America has to. You earn the pay, you pay the taxes. Just because you earn 100 times more (at least) than the "regular folk", doesn't mean you shirk your duties as a tax payer. Pay as you go like we do and you won't get hit with a whopping tax bill that makes you gag and decide you just won't pay. Maybe if the taxes were a lot more equal across the board (especially in the government), we wouldn't be in quite as much trouble these days. Of course, obama would still be in the mix. Nobody should get a reduction in their tax debt just because they are supposedly famous or believe they are better than anyone else in the country. Actors, actresses and government officials would have absolutely no money to pay taxes on if it weren't for the regular folk!
