Alexa Ray Joel has landed a deal to become the new face of the Prell shampoo line, the same brand which her mother used to advertise in 1986.
Billy Joel's daughter Alexa Ray Joel is following in the footsteps of her model mother Christie Brinkley - she's been named the new face of the Prell shampoo line, 24 years after her mum modeled for the brand. Brinkley famously stepped in front of the camera to advertise Prell in 1986, while she was still married to Alexa's musician father.
And now the 24-year-old is set to take over after signing a deal with bosses at the brand. She will appear in print and TV promos for Prell, which will also feature her music. Alexa tells New York Post's gossip column PageSix, "I am so excited and honoured to be named the new face of Prell - especially following in the footsteps of my mother, who was a Prell girl."
The deal is a positive boost for Alexa, who ended in 2009 with a hospital visit after suffering an adverse reaction to medication which she took to cope with a bout of severe depression following a relationship break-up.
