Kristen Bell is stuck with an elderly dog she adopted out of pity after Hurricane Katrina - because the ailing pooch is surviving years longer than she had expected. The "Couples Retreat" star took in three pets left homeless after Katrina struck New Orleans in 2005, volunteering to look after the oldest canine the shelter had in what she thought would be its final days.
But the dog, named Sadie, is clinging to life - and four years later, Bell has to put up with her pet's bad hygiene and diminishing health. She explains, "I adopted this dog from Katrina when she was 12 'cause I work with a shelter and they had a bunch of dogs and I said, 'I'll take the oldest one, I can care for her.'"
She adds, "Cut to four years later, (I'm) actually thinking she may be a real-life vampire and never die. She's almost totally blind and deaf. When she's in the house, you can hear her pooping from the other room, it's like bowling balls dropping. She's semi-crippled in the house and she breathes like Darth Vader."

Oh for crying out loud -- she said this during an interview and it was very tongue-in-cheek. Sadie is 16 years old and Kristen never said she was getting rid of her -- she just told a few funny stories about the dog. And she only adopted one dog from hurricane Katrina -- she had the other two. Keep your facts straight if you're going to publish info about her.
maybe it's time for the dog to be out down. sounds like he's suffering and miserable. quality of life is so important. she needs to buck up and do what's right
I am animal rights activist and i have nothing better to do than boycot kristen bell blah blah blah. Who cares. At least she is being honest. She never said she is getting rid of the animal. She just said he is a pain in the ass like millions of pet owners say all the time. I just think its funny how serious people get. I just think they are very jealous.
What a self-centered ___________. She definitely is not a true animal lover or she wouldn't make comments like that. Someone, please save this dog from her and give it the love it needs.
Kristen Bell should be ashamed of herself, pretending to be such a gogod person just for publicity is the worst thing any actor/actress can do and she is dumb enough to brag about it. It is a great responsibilty taking care of any animal, and more so if the animal is sick, if she can not handle it then she should have never taken the dog. I, as an animal lover will boycott anything she does from now on whether it is on TV or Movies for being such a hipocrite. I for one dislike Kristen Bell.
I guess nobody told her that animals don't come with an on/off button for when they are no longer convenient (or useful for publicity). And 12 is no longer at death's door for most dogs! Who is Kristen Bell anyway?
