Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath Gets 'Mistaken for Ethan Hawke'

Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath Gets 'Mistaken for Ethan Hawke'

Often mistakenly recognized as Ethan Hawke, Mark McGrath says he once signed something for fans to give the actor props, 'so they didn't think he was a d**k.'

Rocker Mark McGrath looks so much like Ethan Hawke, he's constantly stopped and asked to sign autographs as the "Training Day" star. It happens so often, the Sugar Ray frontman has taken to imitating his more famous lookalike.

McGrath says, "I get mistaken for Ethan Hawke all the time. God, I feel so bad for him, and I apologise if he's reading this. Last time, I was in a grocery store they go, 'Are you that actor Ethan Hawke?' And I go, 'No, no I'm not.' And then they thought I was being rude. So I signed something for them to give Ethan Hawke props, so they didn't think he was a d**k."

Mark McGrath started singing professionally with band Sugar Ray in 1992. They have released six studio albums with their last album "Music for Cougars" outed in the U.S. on July 21, 2009.
