The 'Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)' hitmaker becomes the latest celebrity supporting the Free Britney campaign, joining the likes of Miley Cyrus, Eve, Courtney Love, and Rose McGowan.

AceShowbiz - Cher slammed Britney Spears' conservatorship amid Britney's legal battle to take control of her life. "JUST ENOUGH MEDS TO KEEP HER WORKING, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO HAVE A LIFE," Cher blasted Britney's handlers while posting an article that exposed the alleged corruption of the conservatorship.

"Question…why is a woman being worked, if it's known by her conservator that she's not well enough to care for herself," Cher added. One of her followers agreed, "Her team says she is mentally incompetent to make her own decisions but make millions off of her world tours and performances."

"Who's her 'team'!?" Cher asked. "Doesn't she have an 'advocate' with no vested interest!?" Fans quickly replied, saying Britney's advocate was a court appointed lawyer and the "Circus" singer, under the conservatorship, couldn't hire her own lawyer because she's deemed incapable of making her own decision.

"I wish I knew her…I'd go see her, listen, give her a hug, & because unlike those in her life…I want & need nothing from her," Cher wrote. She added, "In Vegas (where Britney had residency show), ppl have talked about this for long time."

Cher was not the only celebrity calling for Britney to be freed. Back in May 2019, Miley Cyrus shouted "Free Britney" during a live performance as she changed her "Party in the U.S.A." lyrics from "And the Jay-Z song was on…" to "And the Britney song was on …."

Rose McGowan said in May, "It's time she gets to be free and live her life on her terms. I hope she's well and I hope she's ok and I love how much her fans love her."

She showed her support for Britney again on Instagram, "From the cage she's been put in since she was a baby. The girl that she was and maybe the woman she is had her life stolen in the most psychedelic way. It is so big the wrong that has been done to her."

Back in 2019 when Britney was being held against her will in a mental hospital, rapper Eve showed her support by wearing a "#FreeBritney" T-shirt during a visit to "The Talk". She said, "I'm wearing this shirt because we all love her."

Meanwhile, Courtney Love put Britney's business manager Lou Taylor on blast. "Let's dig in and get this person removed," she wrote. "I hope the investigation into the conservatorship going well. I really don't like doing this. But it appears no one else is."

The vocalist of the now-defunct band Hole told Lou to "go away." She revealed, "In 2010 I threatened you with jury trial if you persisted in trying to take over my estate. I also meant it. I keep my word."

Britney Spears has been under conservatorship, filed by her father Jamie Spears, for over a decade following her meltdown. While Jamie claimed she was doing better personally and professionally, Britney was allegedly blocked from speaking about the conservatorship.

In 2016 during a sit down with Jonathan Ross, she reportedly tried to talk about her conservatorship but before she could delve deeper into it, the topic was quickly switched off.

Jamie and Lou additionally took Britney's supporters to court. Jamie recently won against a blogger who was campaigning for #FreeBritney.

Britney has been pleading with judge and her father to loosen the reigns on the conservatorship. However, Jamie did the complete opposite. In June 2019, he filed legal request to expand the reach of her conservatorship to cover her home state of Louisiana. He also reportedly wanted to expand the conservatorship to several other states outside of California including Hawaii and Florida.
