The 'Hustlers' star and the 'Hips Don't Lie' singer were initially expected to 'perform a significant portion of the halftime show together - but that's out the window,' says a source.

AceShowbiz - Putting Jennifer Lopez and Shakira together for Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show might not be the best idea. As it's just weeks away from one of the biggest sports events, it has been reported that the two female performers are not getting along well.

A source notes that interactions are "icy" between the 50-year-old singer/actress and the 42-year-old Colombian star. "Jennifer Lopez and Shakira aren't exactly 'cozy,' " the source tells celebrity columnist Love B. Scott.

"There isn't any real feud, but there's definitely a chill in the air between the two stars," the source adds. On how this alleged tension affects plans for their performance, the source claims, "There were initial plans for them to perform a significant portion of the halftime show together - but that's out the window. As of now, they're just planning to appear briefly together at the end of the set."

The source goes on dishing that Shakira's later addition to the halftime show caused the friction between the two stars. "They're telling everyone that limiting how much time Jennifer and Shakira spend on stage together has a lot to do with their different styles of music, but others close to production say that it has more to do with the fact that Jennifer was forced into sharing the performance with Shakira in the first place. Initially, she believed the halftime show was hers alone - only to have the NFL and Pepsi (the Super Bowl halftime show sponsor) add Shakira later," so the source explains.

But J.Lo and Shakira's relationship isn't the only issue that has been plaguing the show preparations. The source spills, "As usual with these Super Bowl performances, the performers are having trouble fitting their set into the time constraints. Right now, the halftime show in the works is running way longer than the allotted time. The NFL, along with the powers-that-be are trying to solve the issue."

Neither J.Lo nor Shakira has addressed this so-called issue between them. But recently the "Hustlers" star has opened up about how preparing for the Super Bowl performance taking its toll on her body. "I'm a little sore right now... not gonna lie," she told "Extra" with a laugh.

The "On the Floor" hitmaker went on sharing, "Taking it day by day, trying to parcel out my time, flying back and forth from Miami to here on the weekends. Listen, I am not complaining; it's amazing to have to do that, to have to go to Super Bowl rehearsals, to have to come here for award shows. I'm fine, I'm fine."
