Officials at the country's Prison and Probation Service cite logistical and security issues in response to the 'Wild for the Night' rapper's request to entertain his former fellow inmates.

AceShowbiz - A$AP Rocky has been denied the opportunity to perform at the Swedish prison where the rapper was held in custody over the summer (2019).

The "Wild for the Night" star was kept behind bars at Kronoberg prison for several weeks after his July arrest for an altercation that took place in Stockholm on June 30.

He was subsequently convicted of assault in August, but was released and allowed to return to his native U.S.

Despite the legal trouble, Rocky made plans to return to the city to perform at the Ericsson Globe on December 11, and voiced his hopes of heading back to Kronoberg to play a special set for his former fellow inmates.

However, as he had predicted, officials at the country's Prison and Probation Service have dismissed the request, citing logistical and security issues, according to local paper Svenska Dagbladet.

The rapper, real name Rakim Mayers, made headlines after he and two members of his entourage were arrested for assaulting a man following a concert in Stockholm.

They insisted they had acted in self-defence, but were all found guilty of assault and received a two-year suspended sentence. They were also ordered to pay damages to the victim.
