Years after her ex-husband passed away in 2007, the 'What's Love Got to Do with It' singer admits that she has never revealed the full extent of his domestic abuse out of shame.

AceShowbiz - Tina Turner fears she will never be able to forgive her late ex-husband, Ike Turner, for the years of domestic abuse he subjected her to.

The iconic singer, whose abusive marriage to Ike was documented in the 1993 film "What's Love Got to Do with It", admits she still resents her ex band leader husband for his actions, and she fears she'll never get past the shame, pain and anger she feels towards him.

"I don't know if I could ever forgive all that Ike ever did to me," she told the New York Times. "(But) Ike's dead. So we don't have to worry about him."

Ike died in 2007, nearly 40 years after their 1978 divorce, which ended 16 years of marriage.

Although Tina has opened up about a lot of the abuse she experienced, she explains she has never revealed the full extent of violence, to which she was a victim, out of shame.

"I think I'm ashamed," she said. "I feel I told enough."

These days, Tina, 79, is more focused on her own health and happiness than stewing over the pain of her past.

"I identify only with my life," she shared. "I was busy doing it. Doing the work. I don't necessarily want to be a 'strong' person. I had a terrible life. I just kept going. You just keep going, and you hope that something will come... This (life now) came."

Tina retired from the stage 10 years ago and she doesn't miss performing at all.

"I don't sing. I don't dance. I don't dress up...," she explained, noting she was ready to leave the stage during her last "Tina!: 50th Anniversary Tour" in 2009.

"(On the tour), I was just tired of singing and making everybody happy. That's all I'd ever done in my life."
