AceShowbiz - John-David Duggar and his wife Abbie Duggar have shared more details about their unborn first child. The couple, who is getting ready to welcome their first bundle of joy, revealed the sex of their baby by sharing a photo of their gender reveal party on their joint Instagram account on Tuesday, August 20.

"We couldn't be more excited to announce...ITS A GIRL!!!" the soon-to-be parents wrote in the caption alongside a photo of them sharing a kiss while pink confetti fell down on them. Prior to this, the pair teased about the announcement, writing, "Boy or girl, what's your guess??"

Some family members left congratulatory messages in the comment section following the gender reveal, showing their happiness for the exciting news. "Can't wait to meet this baby girl-she is already so very loved!" Josiah Duggar and Lauren Duggar, who are expecting their second child together, wrote. John-David's sister Jana Duggar also expressed her excitement for the baby as she commented, "Congratulations!! Super excited for y'all!!!"

John-David and Abbie, who tied the knot in November 2018, announced the baby news on August 1. They treated their online devotees to an adorable photo of them sitting in a helicopter while smiling and holding up a onesie that read "Baby Passenger On Board." Alongside the snap, the "Counting On" stars revealed that they were "on Cloud 9 about welcoming our own little Duggar into the world!!! It really is amazing to think about being parents and having our own child to raise. We are thankful that God has blessed us with this new life and we look forward to taking on this new adventure!"

The TLC stars got engaged in July 2018 after first announcing their courtship a month ago. "Abbie and I are just so excited," shared John-David in a clip, adding that they had "known of each other for several years" but didn't meet until a "couple months ago" when he visited her home state of Oklahoma for a church event.

"We fell in love very quickly," he said. "It's been a wonderful journey thus far, and [we’re] taking the next step to move on to a courtship."
