AceShowbiz - The gang is back and fully armed in the first official trailer of "Zombieland" sequel. Called "Zombieland: Double Tap", the upcoming movie reunites Woody Harrelson as Tallahassee, Jesse Eisenberg as Columbus, Emma Stone as Wichita and Abigail Breslin as Little Rock as it continues their survival story post-zombie apocalypse.
Early in the video, the gang is seen in action as they arrive at the now-abandoned White House. The land surrounding the place has been overgrown with wild plants, making it look like a farm. "We find our heroes from the last movie ten years later, as they're just moving into the White House," explains director Ruben Fleischer, who also directed the first film, to Entertainment Weekly. "Tallahassee has a saying, 'Go big, or go home.' They kind of took it to heart and went for kind of the biggest and best home they could find."
The foursome seems to enjoy their stay at the White House, before they're back on the road. Along the way, they meet several new characters, including "a 'bad-ass zombie killer' called Nevada (Rosario Dawson), a young woman named Madison (Zoey Deutsch) who has survived by living in the freezer of a Pinkberry, and a musician with the sobriquet of Berkeley (Avan Jogia)."
There are also two gentlemen played by Luke Wilson and Thomas Middleditch, whose appearances and attitudes remind everyone of Tallahassee and Columbus. "We kind of called them 'doppelgangers,' " Fleischer teases about these two new characters. "Actually, I'm going to leave to the audience who goes to the movie. I don't want to spoil it too much. I'll just say it's perhaps one of my favorite parts of the whole film. You're gonna have to go see the movie to see what's going on."
The video hints that Little Rock will abandon her pack to join the boy from Berkeley. Unhappy with this, Tallahassee decides to leave their new comfortable place to find Little Rock and get her back.
According to the official description, in the sequel, written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Dave Callaham, through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, these four slayers must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.
It is set for an October 18 release in the United States.
