AceShowbiz - Three-time Super Bowl champion-turned-TV sports pundit Tedy Bruschi is recovering after suffering a stroke.
The former New England Patriots favourite's family members confirmed the news on Friday (July 05), revealing he fell ill during a Fourth of July get together.
"Yesterday afternoon, Tedy had a stroke, known as a TIA," a statement reads. "He recognized the warning signs immediately: arm weakness, face drooping and speech difficulties. Tedy is recovering well, and would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Sturdy Memorial Hospital for all they have done."
"Tedy and his family thank you for your ongoing encouragement, and kindly ask for privacy at this time."
Tedy, 46, also suffered a mild stroke back in 2005, when he was 31 and still playing football for the Patriots, but he recovered and returned to the field for another four seasons.
He now works as a football analyst at ESPN.
