During a red carpet interview at the New York premiere of their movie 'The Dead Don't Die', the veteran actor and comedian gushes over his co-star, 'I like her very much.'

AceShowbiz - Bill Murray's fondness for Selena Gomez has reached the point where he wants to introduce the singer to his mother. But the problem is, his mother is no longer living in this world. The 68-year-old actor gushed over Selena while speaking to PEOPLE on the red carpet at the premiere of their movie "The Dead Don't Die" on Monday, June 10 in New York City.

Admitting that he didn't have the best impression of the "Back to You" singer at first, he said, "I learned that I like her. I learned that whatever preconception I had about someone that had 55 million, billion followers or something -- maybe, I probably thought she was different than she turned out to be." Bill went on sharing his affection towards Selena, "I enjoyed her very much. I like her very much."

He then expressed his wish to be able to introduce Selena to his mother, "If my mother were alive I'd bring her home to her." Jokingly acting out the meeting, he added, "Mother. I want you to meet Selena."

Selena and Bill become close after filming "The Dead Don't Die", which also stars Adam Driver and Tilda Swinton among others, together. When attending the premiere of the movie at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival, the two stars were even photographed sharing a good laugh. At one point, the veteran actor/comedian was seen giving the actress a kiss on the cheek and whispering something in her ear. When asked about what he whispered to the "Wolves" singer's ear, he said, "I don't remember what I said. I was trying to keep her at ease."

Selena, on the other hand, took to her Instagram account to share several pictures of her and Bill from the event. She joked in the caption, "By the way Bill Murray and I are getting married."
