AceShowbiz - Wendy Williams is hard to impress. On Thursday, May 2, "The Wendy Williams Show" host threw a shade at Madonna following the singer's performance at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, which was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 1.
During the award-giving event, the Material Girl hit the stage to debut first performance of her new song "Medellin" alongside Colombian superstar Maluma. The magnificent stage featured multiple holographic versions of Madonna and her collaborator, though it was not enough to make Wendy impressed.
"She moves like an old lady...and if you move like an old lady then you should just stick to your old lady moves," the 54-year-old TV host blasted the pop star on her talk show. She went on saying, "Those stupid grills, and the patch over her eye, and she was sitting on the floor, and the dancers were dragging her around like a wet dishrag...like, eww."
"Just stick with the old stuff, Material Girl and junk. We like that," Wendy continued.
While Wendy wasn't thrilled with Madonna's stage performance, she expressed her love for Mariah Carey's performance at the big event. "From red carpet looks to show stopping performances, here are the top must-see moments from the #billboardmusicawards!" she tweeted.
Fans of Madonna immediately came at her as one of them wrote, "Praising Cardi, and Mariah, who clearly can't sing anymore, and dissing Madonna? Now knowing who Maluma is? You're clearly showing your bitter age missy." Another fan blasted her, "boy are you ageist? Last week u liked Madonna's video but u trash her for BBMA live performance.. moves like an 'old lady'. Way to go Wendy, I've sen Maddie live, out dance, sing, flip, get carried, climb drop, roll as recent as 2016."
One other defensive fan added, "So rude about @Madonna Madonna was jumping around the stage 20 years ago love ! Paula lip synced for her life ! She was entertaining, your not love x."
Meanwhile, another user was just there for the drama as s/he tweeted, "@WendyWilliams description of Madonna's performance on the billboard awards last night, had me laugh crying."
