In a new 'Today' interview, the Gale Hawthorne of 'The Hunger Games' film series opens up about the coincidences that led him to star opposite his future wife in 2010's 'The Last Song'.

AceShowbiz - Liam Hemsworth is convinced he and Miley Cyrus were destined to be together because so many coincidences led to them teaming up on "The Last Song".

The couple fell in love while making the 2010 Nicholas Sparks romance, became engaged, and after a two-year split, reunited and married in December (2018), and the Australian star admits he wouldn't have met Miley had it not been for a few lucky accidents.

In a new "Today" interview, which will air on Sunday, February 17, Liam reveals he was up for the role of "Thor" and if his big brother Chris Hemsworth hadn't landed the part he wouldn't have been available to make "The Last Song" with his future wife.

And then the film's original leading man dropped out, giving Hemsworth his big break.

"That was the first job that I got and it was right at the end of my three-month (travel) visa," he explains. "They cast another kid and it didn't work out with him.

"My agent calls me, whispering, and he said, 'You've got to go to Disney right now. It's not working out with the other guy. You've got to go and read with Miley'. I come in and everyone starts clapping and they were like, 'We should have gone with you in the first place!' I was like, 'OK, good, thanks, great'."

"It's weird how it all kinda comes together and then 10 years later I'm here, married."

Liam and his new bride try to keep their relationship as private as possible, but he admits he's still pinching himself about the fact he's married to his soulmate.

"I feel really happy and really fortunate to be with such a great person," he coos.

The couple just spent its first Valentine's Day together as husband and wife and the pop star marked the occasion with a sweet tweet, writing: "My Valentine every single day Thank you for always bending down to hug me... I promise I will always meet you in the middle on my tippiest toes! I love you Valentine! @liamhemsworth."

She also celebrated the most romantic day of the year by sharing new photos from the pair's wedding ceremony.
