AceShowbiz - Dua Lipa has released a new song entitled "Swan Song" as well as its accompanying music video. Making its way out on Wednesday, January 24, the song served as the soundtrack to upcoming movie "Alita: Battle Angel". Meanwhile, the music video was directed by Floria Sigismondi.

Clocking in at three minutes and twenty three seconds, the visuals takes place in the film's world, the treacherous streets of Iron City, where Lipa is having a dance party with her female dancers before daunting drones come and threaten them. Understandably afraid of getting stepped on, the ladies quickly run away from their place.

Lipa later emerges in another setting, walking out of her room to face herself in a mirror. However, instead of seeing her reflection on the mirror, Lipa faces the movie's titular character Alita on the other side of the glass. The latter then teaches the British songstress all the battle techniques she needs to know in order to defeat the drones. Having learned all the moves, Lipa heads out to what appears to be the headquarter of the drones and looks more than ready to fight.

Director Sigismondi explained the deliberate connection between the music video and the animated movie in a statement.

"While in the film Alita is quite literally on a journey to discover who she is, her story serves as a really powerful allegory for any girl who doesn't yet know her own power," he said. "I wanted to play with that same profound notion by dropping Dua into a facet of Alita's world and allowing Alita to serve as a surrogate that leads her on a journey to discover she's stronger than she ever could have imagined."

Based on Yukito Kishiron's manga "Gunnm", "Alita: Battle Angel" follows the story of Alita (Rosa Salazar), a disembodied "core" who awakens with no memory in a post-apocalyptic world destroyed by a technological fall. Dr. Ido (Christoph Waltz) finds her and gives her a new body. They later discover that Alita is more than what she seems and has an extraordinary past. As she navigates her new life, she battles other machines who are empowered with skills.

The movie is set for a February 14 release in the United States.
