The Merc with a Mouth depicter says his team is already at work on the third movie, though Fox has not officially given a green light on the project.

AceShowbiz - Following the success of "Deadpool" (2016) and its sequel "Deadpool 2" (2018), making the third movie would be a no-brainer. While 20th Century Fox has not officially announced the follow-up movie, Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that "Deadpool 3" is already in development.

The Canadian hunk gave a tidbit about the upcoming third movie when attending the Chinese premiere of re-cut, PG-13 version of "Deadpool 2" in Beijing. According to Variety, the 42-year-old actor said his team has been at work on "Deadpool 3".

Without revealing the details, Reynolds said they're "looking to go in a completely different direction" for the third movie. He jokingly added, "Often, they reboot or change a character maybe like four movies too late."

Reynolds, who injured his left arm shooting "Deadpool 2", postponed his surgery in New York scheduled for Sunday, January 20 to come to China ahead of the premiere. "It's been a dream of mine for years to bring 'Deadpool' to China and Chinese audiences, so for me this is, uh, heaven on earth," he told Beijing fans at the premiere. "This was more important. I was not going to miss coming to China."

The more family-friendly version of the anti-superhero film, "Once Upon a Deadpool", was released in the U.S. last December. It will be released in China under a title that translates to "Deadpool 2: I Love My Family".

Reynolds said he agreed to tone down the movie, which is filled with violence and profanities, because a portion of the proceeds went to the F**k Cancer campaign, which aims to raise awareness and educate people about early cancer detection. "I've said no (to making a more kid-friendly Deadpool film) since 2006. Now, this one time, I said 'Yes' on (the condition that) a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity," he explained.
