The new drama series from Netflix will see Sarah Paulson taking the title role of Nurse Ratched with Judy Davis, Amanda Plummer and Hunter Parrish also among the star-studded cast ensemble.

AceShowbiz - Sharon Stone and Cynthia Nixon are set to star in Ryan Murphy's new Netflix series.

Sarah Paulson and Judy Davis are also among the women in the star-studded cast for Murphy's first major project with Netflix, simply titled "Ratched".

The thrilling drama will focus on the origin story of Nurse Ratched from "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest", following her transformation from medical professional to "full-fledged monster", according to the 53-year-old's post on Instagram.

Paulson will play the titular character in the show - and is set to serve as producer - with Stone and Nixon's roles yet to be named.

On behalf of myself and Ms. Sarah Catharine Paulson who plays the title role and is also a big fancy producer on it, we are thrilled to announce our amazing cast...a true murderers' row of talent. So many of these actors are supremely talented folks who Sarah and I have both longed to work with," Murphy gushed.

Also starring are Amanda Plummer, Hunter Parrish, Corey Stoll, Jon Jon Briones, Harriet Harris, Charlie Carver and Finn Wittrock.

"Come on...Sarah, Cynthia, Judy, Amanda and Sharon, all doing scenes together? I cannot WAIT," the "Glee" co-creator added.

Meanwhile, Stone took to Twitter to confirm her role in the new drama. Sharing reports from various outlets about the news, the "Basic Instinct" star simply added, "Ratched."

Michael Douglas, who worked on the 1975 movie starring Jack Nicholson, is also down to produce on the show.

Louise Fletcher played the terrifying Nurse Ratched in the Oscar-winning film, which scored five Academy Awards, including Best Actor for Nicholson, Best Actress for Fletcher and Best Picture.

Murphy signed a five-year deal with Netflix last year. His second show for the streaming giant will be "The Politician", starring Jessica Lange and Gwyneth Paltrow.
