Giving an update on her condition after she was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, the former 'Top Chef' contestant asks people for forgiveness 'for whenever I must have hurt you.'

AceShowbiz - Fatima Ali isn't getting better after diagnosed with terminal cancer. Giving an update on her health, the former "Top Chef" contestant greeted her fans with a new post on her Instagram account on Thursday, January 10.

She shared a picture of her rocking glasses while lying on what looks like a hospital bed and revealed in the caption that she's "getting sicker." She opened her heartbreaking message, "I know it's been ages since I posted and most may have figured out why. I'm sick and unfortunately I'm getting sicker."

The 29-year-old chef cried for prayers, because "right now all I need are prayers; prayers that are simple." She also asked for everyone's forgiveness, writing, "I hope, because a wish is putting on too much responsibility on the other, that you will somehow find forgiveness in your big heart for whenever I must have hurt you."

"I thank you a million times over for when you have given me joy," she continued, before concluding her message with a promise, "I'll try to keep everyone updated the best that I possibly can."

I know it’s been ages since I posted and most may have figured out why. I’m sick and unfortunately I’m getting sicker. Right now all I need are prayers; prayers that are simple. Her fans and followers have since flooded the comment section with messages of support. "Top Chef" host Padma Lakshmi was among them who responded to Fatima's post, writing, "I'm coming boo! Hold on tight!"

Fatima, who was also a "Chopped" winner, revealed in 2017 that she was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer in the bone. Padma has been there for her since the beginning of her cancer battle, accompanying her in the hospital as she prepared for her surgery.

In October 2018, Fatima announced that her cancer has sadly returned after doctors declared that she was cancer-free back in February. In an emotional essay published on Bon Appetit's Healthyish, she said that her oncologist told her that she only had one year to live, "with or without the new chemotherapy regimen."

"I was looking forward to being 30, flirty and thriving. Guess I have to step up on the flirting. I have no time to lose," she wrote. She also shared her plans to spend the rest of her life by doing what she loves best: visiting new restaurants around the world.

Fatima appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" last November to share her story of how she's going through her days with positivity. "When I was diagnosed, it was obviously incredibly jarring. It was the biggest shock of my life. But, I knew the only way I was going to beat this was through positivity and rallying people around me," she admitted.

She added, "I am so looking forward to this next year, because I am surrounded with so much positivity. I'm so lucky to have friends and family like I do. We are going to be taking an entire tour of the world, eating all this absolutely delicious food. I know that's the only way to get through this."

Admiring Fatima's strength, Ellen DeGeneres handed out a $50,000 cheque from Shutterfly to make sure that Fatima gets "to do everything you want to do." Fatima responded to the generous gift, "That's amazing! Thank you so much!"
