AceShowbiz - Colton Underwood's journey to find the love of his life started on Monday, January 7, when season 23 of ABC's "The Bachelor" premiered. Kicking off the night one was the 26-year-old hunk, who claims to be virgin, meeting all his ladies for the first time. Just like other seasons, this season features contestant with similar names as there are two Alexes, a Caelynn and a Caitlin, an Erika and an Erin as well as two Hannahs.
The first woman to get out of the limo was Demi, who said, "I have not dated a virgin since I was 12, but I'm excited to give it another try." The next woman was Tayshia before Heather arrived. Heather tried to steal Colton's heart by saying that she wouldn't be on the show if he wasn't the Bachelor. The episode also saw Colton being impressed by Nicole's Spanish though he didn't understand a word.
Caelynn made an entrance while wearing her Miss North Carolina sash before Sydney came. She revealed that she quit her job for "The Bachelor". Next to arrive was Elyse who looked nervous, prompting the Bachelor to calm her nerves down. Tahzjuan later attempted to break the ice by cracking a joke about her name's difficult pronunciation.

After Cassie showed up with a box of fake butterflies, Caitlin made an unforgettable entrance. She brought a cherry-shaped balloon and popping it for Colton. Caitlyn wasn't the only one who got something for the former football player as Courtney gave Colton a peach to remind him she's from Georgia.

Later, Bri, who faked an Australian accent, and Alex D, who arrived in a sloth costume, came. The last lady to arrive was Erin. She made sure that her entrance was one to remember as she arrived in a horse drawn carriage and left a silver shoe.
The first drama in the season was when Hannah and Caelynn realized they know each other after the latter beat the former in Miss USA. As if that was not enough to bring tension between the two, thing went more awkward as they wore the same dress.
Later, Colton and Demi were seen having a one-on-one talk after she pulled him aside at the cocktail party. During the premiere, Colton's virginity continued being the hot topic. Erika even decided to boldly ask Colton why he's still a virgin. To which, he explained that his personal life simply took a backseat to his football career. He added that now he's focusing on finding the right person and the right moment for that. It didn't take too long for Colton to get his first kiss on the show. He and Caelynn shared a kiss in the first episode.
It's finally time for the first impression rose. Viewers could tell that the tension got a little higher than before. Everyone was trying their best to get Colton's attention. Catherine even annoyed some of fellow contestants by pulling Colton aside for a second and a third time while some others hadn't even had a moment with him. Tayshia called her out, though the latter defended herself.
At the end, Colton presented the first impression rose to Hannah G. because she reminded him of "home." She gladly accepted it and they kissed. As for the first rose ceremony, he gave roses to everyone but Revian, Erin, Tahzjuan, Devin, Alex D., Laura and Jane. The seven ladies were forced to go back home after spending one night with the Bachelor. With that, there are remaining 23 women who are still vying for Colton's heart in this season.
The Bachelor airs on Sundays at 8 P.M. on ABC.
