AceShowbiz - Contrary to the title of the song, there is nothing good happening in Eminem's music video for "Good Guy". Released on Friday, December 7 as promised, the visuals follows his collaborator Jessie Reyez seeking revenge after getting herself buried alive by the Detroit rapper near his home.
It opens with the songstress crawling out of the ground while gasping for air. Once she manages to pull herself together, she wastes no time to walk into his home and fight him. After coming face-to-face with the rapper in the kitchen, she punches him in the face before a massive fight ensues.
She throws various kind of things at him and even stabs him in the stomach, prompting him to run away as he realizes that his life is in danger. But before Em can get away from Jessie, the latter catches up and throw themselves out of the window, heavily injuring both of them. Wasting no time, she then strangles him to death.
The end of the clip sees Jessie putting him in a body bag and dragging him into a grave. Realizing what she has done to him, the songstress lays beside him while crying.
The music video for "Good Guy" was filmed in early last month along the shoreline where the Detroit river meets lake St. Clair in the Grosse Pointe area.
The visuals arrives just hours after Em was announced as one of the nominees for Best Rap Song Award at the 2019 Grammy Awards with his Joyner Lucas-assisted "Lucky You". It is pitted against Drake's "God's Plan", Jay Rock and Kendrick Lamar's "King's Dead", Travis Scott (II) and Drake's "Sicko Mode" and Jay Rock's "Win". Should he win the trophy, it will be his first Grammy win in three years.
The winner of the category will be announced during a live ceremony on February 10, 2019 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
