AceShowbiz - The complete nomination list for the upcoming 61st annual Grammy Awards has been revealed. Announced live on CBS' "This Morning" and Apple Music, the announcement for major categories was made with the help of singers Alessia Cara, Shawn Mendes, Janelle Monae as well as Zane Lowe of Beats 1.
This year sees Cardi B and Drake each scoring a nomination for the biggest honor Album of the Year with their respective albums "Invasion of Privacy" and "Scorpion". Also battling it out with the rappers in the category are Brandi Carlile's "By the Way, I Forgive You", Post Malone's "Beerbongs & Bentleys", Janelle Monae's "Dirty Computer" as well as Kendrick Lamar-curated "Black Panther" soundtrack album.
Noticeably missing from the category is Taylor Swift's record-breaking album "Reputation".
In Record of the Year category, Cardi and Drake are once again set to battle it out after their respective songs "I Like It" and "God's Plan" make it to the list. They will battle the likes of Donald Glover a.k.a. Childish Gambino's "This Is America" and Lady GaGa's collaboration with Bradley Cooper "Shallow".
Helping announce the major nominations that day, Shawn was "overwhelmed" after knowing that he scored a Grammy nomination with "In My Blood". The track is up for Song of the Year category, getting pitted against the likes of Ella Mai's "Boo'd Up", "This Is America" and more.
Meanwhile, stars who make it to the Best New Artist category include Luke Combs, Dua Lipa, Jorja Smith and Bebe Rexha.
Other stars who also score a nomination for the upcoming event are Kacey Musgraves, Kelsea Ballerini, Camila Cabello and Ariana Grande among others. On the other hand, Kendrick leads the nominees with eight nods, followed by Drake with seven nods.
