Frustrated at the negative comments he and his wife received, the 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' actor argues, 'It shows how stupid our world is becoming with opinion.'

AceShowbiz - Actor Kevin Hart has played down the controversy surrounding the Cowboys and Indians theme for his son's birthday party, insisting the criticism is "dumb".

The "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" star and his wife Eniko Parrish came under fire last week (ends November 25) after celebrating their boy Kenzo turning one with a fancy dress party, held on America's Thanksgiving holiday.

Eniko shared photos from the costume bash on Instagram, and captioned it, "Zos cowboys & indians party was nothing but amazing! Thanks to everyone for coming... we love you guys (sic)."

Among the pictures posted included one of the birthday boy dressed in cow-print trousers, a bandanna and cowboy hat, while another showed off his birthday cake, which was covered in images of Native American teepee tents.

A number of social media users were quick to attack the Harts for the "culturally insensitive" party theme, but the comedian is now hitting back on his SiriusXM show "Straight from the Hart", insisting the "flak" the couple received online is misplaced.

"(Eniko)'s like, 'Look at this dumb s**t..., people are complaining about the Cowboys and Indians party, saying it's... an insensitive theme..,' " the funnyman recalled of the moment he heard about the social media backlash.

"The reason why I'm even bringing this dumb s**t up is because it shows how stupid our world is becoming with opinion," he continued. "People are at a point of an all time high to throw racial judgement into the development of a one year old's birthday party where the theme is Cowboys and Indians, and it's based around the outfits that are given to these young kids."

Kevin went on to insist there was no "malicious" intention with the choice of theme, and claimed it was selected simply because it's been a popular game with young kids for decades, just like Cops and Robbers.

"This isn't something that has just started, this isn't a racial slur that people are just doing and being malicious with," he said. "I'm about to be 40 years old, I remember playing these dumb a** games (as a child)!".
