Leslie Cockburn, an investigative journalist and filmmaker, is the 2018 Democratic nominee for the state's fifth district in the U.S. House of Representatives.
"It's a really important district," the actress says. "It has Charlottesville and there's a bunch of more rural counties. It's huge.
"It's bigger than New Jersey and it's really important because Virginia has this wave of women who are running for Congress and it's really exciting because they're gonna change the way that Virginia is... I'm so proud of her."
