"Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26. He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans," they said, without mentioning his cause of death. "Thank you for your prayers. Please respect our privacy. There are no further details as the cause of his death at this time."

Mac was found unresponsive in a bedroom inside his San Fernando Valley home at 12 P.M. local time. He was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. Recent reports suggested that a call was made dor an "immediate dispatch" by authorities for a patient, most probably the late rapper, in a cardiac arrest.

Following his death, a lot of celebrities, especially his peers in the music industry, took to social media to mourn his death. Among them were Chance the Rapper, Juicy J and Questlove. "I don't know what to say Mac Miller took me on my second tour ever," Chance wrote. "But beyond helping me launch my career he was one of the sweetest guy I ever knew. Great man. I loved him for real. Im completely heartbroken. God bless him."

"I'm so f***ed up right now this is so sad I can't believe it. R.I.P. MAC MILLER," Juicy said on his Twitter account, while Lil Yachty recalled his last meeting with Mac. "We spoke less than two weeks ago. Wtf dude. This makes me so sad. Rip Mac!!!"

Meanwhile, Ariana Grande, who dated the late rapper for nearly two years, has yet to speak out about his passing. However, the Nickelodeon alum has turned off her Instagram comments after many people began blaming her for his death.
