The rapper's attorneys seek to reschedule the deposition because their client has suffered serious 'unanticipated postpartum complications' after giving birth to daughter Kulture in July.

AceShowbiz - Cardi B has asked for more time to schedule a deposition over a new album cover spat because she's struggling as a new mum.

The rapper gave birth to daughter Kulture in July and it appears she's still coming to terms with life as a mum after requesting a hold on documents she has to hand over as part of an ongoing lawsuit over the artwork on her Gangsta B**ch Music Vol. 1.

In documents obtained by The Blast, Cardi's attorneys insist they need more time because their client "has suffered unanticipated postpartum complications sufficiently serious enough to cause her, among other things, to have to cancel an upcoming and much-publicized tour, performing with Bruno Mars".

"Her condition also made it impracticable for her to fully participate, for some weeks, in completing factual investigation and complete the pending jurisdictional discovery," her lawyer adds.

As a result, Kevin Michael Brophy, Jr. may have to wait to seek justice - he has accused Cardi B of using his image on her artwork for the album and is demanding at least $5 million (GBP3.9 million).

He insists his distinct tattoo of a tiger fighting a snake on his back is clearly visible, and he never gave Cardi permission to use the photo.

Cardi demanded the case be dismissed arguing the man was trying to profit off her success by going after her through "extortionate means". Her lawyers called the use of the image a "classic example of transformative work created in the exercise of the First Amendment rights of the photographer."

Cardi B and Brophy previously agreed to move her scheduled June deposition, because she was heavily pregnant at the time.

The rapper dropped out of her tour with Mars in July, confessing she was not physically ready to hit the stage.
