AceShowbiz - Rapper The Game has been denied a new trial his sexual assault lawsuit.
The Dreams hitmaker, real name Jayceon Taylor, was sued for $10 million (£7.8 million) by Priscilla Rainey, a contestant on his U.S. reality series She's Got Game, in 2015. She claimed The Game assaulted her while filming a scene in a Los Angeles bar as part of the show, in which women competed for the rap star's affection.
He lost the case in late 2016 and a $7 million (£5.4 million) default judgement was handed down in Rainey's favour.
He filed an appeal over the ruling and requested a new trial, but his motion has since been denied by an Illinois judge because of his history of not showing up to court, according to AllHipHop.com.
Meanwhile, Taylor launched a lawsuit against officials at VH1's parent company Viacom, demanding they cover of the costs of the default judgement as well as $13 million (£10.1 million) in damages for failing to properly vet contestants on the show and not protecting him against Rainey, who allegedly had a criminal history.
The TV executives successfully sought a dismissal of the legal action in June, and asked for the rapper to pick up their $36,000 (£28,000) legal bill.
Last month, a judge granted Viacom's request and ordered the hip-hop star to pay slightly less than their original demand.
