The movie has received a standing ovation from film critics when it was premiered at the Venice Film Festival.

AceShowbiz - Universal Pictures has released first trailer for "First Man" starring Ryan Gosling. Still highlighting NASA's mission to land a man on the moon, it follows Gosling's Neil Armstrong who prepares for the mission.
The latest sneak peek shows more of the tension that surrounds the mission, including the doubt that Armstrong faces from his family and the public. "Do you think you're coming back?" Armstrong's son asks him during a family dinner.
It also shows Armstrong's first meeting with Buzz Aldrin, played by Corey Stoll, who later joins Armstrong on the Apollo 11 flight.
From Oscar-winning "La La Land" director Damien Chazelle, "First Man" is described as the riveting story behind the first manned mission to the moon, focusing on Neil Armstrong and the decade leading to the historic Apollo 11 flight. A visceral and intimate account told from Armstrong's perspective, based on the book by James R. Hansen, the film explores the triumphs and the cost-on Armstrong, his family, his colleagues and the nation itself-of one of the most dangerous missions in history.
It's written by Academy Award winner Josh Singer ("Spotlight", "The Post") and produced by Steven Spielberg and Adam Merims, with Singer as executive producer. It also stars Golden Globe-winning actress Claire Foy as Armstrong's wife Janet, with Kyle Chandler, Jason Clarke, Patrick Fugit, Christopher Abbott, Ciaran Hinds, Ethan Embry, Shea Whigham and Pablo Schreiber taking other roles. It is due out in the U.S. on October 12.
The movie was screened as the Venice Film Festival opener on Wednesday, August 29 where it received a standing ovation. "This is a strikingly intelligent treatment of a defining moment for America that broadens the tonal range of Chazelle, clearly a versatile talent, after 'Whiplash' and 'La La Land'," wrote critic David Rooney.
