AceShowbiz - Guy Pearce is poised to join Vin Diesel in upcoming superhero movie "Bloodshot" as a replacement for Michael Sheen.

The Welsh actor has reportedly had to bow out of plans to feature in the Valiant comics project due to scheduling and family conflicts, but filmmakers have since turned to Pearce to step in, according to Deadline.com.

Details about the "Iron Man 3" star's specific role have yet to be revealed, but Diesel will be taking on the titular character, also known as Ray Garrison, who is brought back from the dead and turned into a super human with the help of nanotechnology.

"Deadpool" filmmaker Tim Miller's longtime sidekick Dave Wilson is directing the movie, which will also star Eiza Gonzalez, Talulah Riley, Alex Hernandez, Sam Heughan, and Toby Kebbell as Bloodshot villain, Axe.

"Bloodshot" is currently in pre-production, ahead of a 2020 release.
