Showrunner Joe Pokaski reveals that Mr. Jip won't be the only one to appear in season 2, should the show be renewed on Freeform.

AceShowbiz - The first season of "Marvel's Cloak & Dagger" is currently airing on Freeform, but it doesn't mean executive producers stop planning what to offer in season 2, should the show be renewed. Showrunner Joe Pokaski reveals in a new interview that things will be more intense in the sophomore season, teasing more classic villains from the comic book.

When asked about the possibility of intrudocing Mr. Jip, one of the comic's most notorious villains, Pokaski told Syfy Wire, "You didn't see him in episode six? It's possible you did," Pokaski said.

He continued teasing, "I'm not spoiling anything, I'm not committing to anything. But you should go back and look carefully at the scene where Tyrone goes into Kev's dream and [sees] that kid with the backpack's fears. I have a feeling if we're lucky enough to have a season two, a lot of your favorites will be making appearances."

The showrunner is talking about a scene in which Cloak a.k.a.Tyrone tapped into another man's greatest fears, and received a glimpse of a dark and demonic being. As it was one of the most intense scenes in the entire show so far, Tyrone was visibly shaken following the event.

Mr. Jip was born centuries ago, according to the comics. He's a man who coveted power and forbidden knowledge. He traveled to Kamar Taj after hearing some rumors of it. He then learned that the city of hidden knowledge had been destroyed with the Ancient One as the only survivor.

Mr. Jip later manipulated the Ancient One into taking him on as his pupil. When the latter realized that Mr. Jip had an evil motive, he cast the latter out of the city. However, it was too late since Mr. Jip had learned all he needed to know. It took no time for him to get drawn to the dark world and turn into an evil man.

Pokaski also added that Mr. Jip wouldn't be the only one to appear in season 2. "I have a feeling if we’re lucky enough to have a season two, a lot your favorites will be making appearances," said Pokaski.

He also talked about costumes. "I think we are going to have one out of two fantastic comic book costume origins by the end of the season....I want to make sure that they happen so gradually that it never seems like all of a sudden someone is throwing latex on," Pokaski continued.

Starring Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden, Carl Lundstedt and James Saito, season 1 of "Marvel's Cloak & Dagger" airs on Thursdays at 8 P.M. on Freeform.
