AceShowbiz - Actress and filmmaker Greta Gerwig is trying to hook up with her Lady Bird stars Saoirse Ronan and Timothee Chalamet again for a Little Women (2019) remake.

Gerwig will adapt Louisa May Alcott's classic novel for Sony, and insiders tell Deadline a bunch of big names are now circling the project.

Oscar winners Meryl Streep and Emma Stone are also in talks to join the cast for the movie, about the literary March sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy, on their journey to womanhood.

The project appears to be an all-female affair with industry heavyweights Amy Pascal, Denise Di Novi, and Andrea Giannetti overseeing the new Little Women film.

Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman's daughter Maya has helped revive Alcott's novel on the small screen, starring as Jo March in a new TV adaptation the book, while a 1994 movie version featured Winona Ryder, Trini Alvarado. Kirsten Dunst, Claire Danes, and Susan Sarandon.
