Keef, who was confronted by two would-be gunmen earlier this month, blames the incident on Tekashi69, whom he has been feuding with on social media.

AceShowbiz - Rising rapper Tekashi69 is reportedly under police investigation over the attempted shooting of Chief Keef earlier in June.

Keef, real name Keith Cozart, was allegedly confronted by two would-be gunmen outside the W Hotel in Times Square in New York, where he had been staying, and one of the men fired a shot at him, which missed and struck hotel signage.

He has blamed the incident on rival Tekashi69, real name Daniel Hernandez, recently telling the New York Post "it's just beef" between him and the rapper, who he has been feuding with on social media.

According to TMZ.com, Tekashi69, also known as 6ix9ine, is now under investigation over the shooting. New York Police Department authorities reportedly want to see if he has a connection with the two men who shot at Keef. He was in Los Angeles at the time of the incident, but cops are hoping to discover if he ordered a hit.

Surveillance video shows the two suspects following Keef over the course of the night, showing up at the China Chalet restaurant, where Keef was, before getting into a van, parking around the block from the W Hotel and walking to it to wait outside for Keef, who later showed up to smoke a cigarette with a friend. After missing the shot, the suspects reportedly fled in the van, which was later found in Brooklyn.

Tekashi69 previously denied any involvement in the shooting.
