'We have each other so let's get through this acne experience together,' the 'Riverdale' star says on Instagram Stories.

AceShowbiz - Actress Lili Reinhart has ushered in a new body-positivity movement after sharing her battle with cystic acne online.

The Riverdale star opened up about her pimple problems on Monday, May 21 via Instagram Stories, revealing a breakout hammered her confidence recently on the set of a photoshoot.

"I have a cystic breakout on my forehead currently and I had to do a photoshoot all day long," she wrote. "I've had cystic acne since I was 12 and it has caused major self esteem issues ever since. I had to put my biggest insecurity on display.

"There was nowhere to hide. 20+ (plus) people were studying my face on the camera monitor at any given time during the 11 hour shoot. And, all I could think about when I was in front of the camera were the pimples on my forehead".

Lili, 21, went on to admit she feels "ugly" when the breakouts occur, confessing spots shatters her confidence. Cole Sprouse's girlfriend then urged fans with similar acne problems to come out of the closet by posting their stories under the hashtag #breakoutbuddy.

"I'm not sure if or when I'll ever be able to accept my skin as it is," she added, "But I'm hoping that someday I can feel beautiful even if I'm having a breakout. And that I won't feel obsessive or paranoid".

"Maybe if I normalize my skin, more people... will be able to feel okay about their skin," Lili mused before extending her compassionate invite. "To anyone out there who feels embarrassed or ashamed by breakouts... I feel you. We have each other so let's get through this acne experience together.

Since Lili published her call for action, fans have shared hundreds of posts under the #breakoutbuddy hashtag, launching a social media movement.
