The R'n'B group will receive the award at the 31st annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards in Los Angeles on June 21.

AceShowbiz - Xscape is set to be honored with the Golden Note Award from officials at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). Members Kandi, Tameka Cottle, and sisters Tamika Scott and LaTocha Scott will be special guests at the 31st annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards in Los Angeles on June 21, when they will be saluted for their songwriting.

"Xscape knocked us all out in the '90s with their powerful vocal harmonies and surprised absolutely no one as they went on to become one of the most prolific female R&B groups of all time," ASCAP President Paul Williams declares in a statement.

"Decades later, all four members have gone on to individual success in music and on screen, and we are thrilled to recognize their achievements with the ASCAP Golden Note Award," he continued.

The music veterans, known for hits including "Just Kickin' It" and "My Little Secret", will follow in the footsteps of previous honorees including Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, Usher, and Jay-Z.
