AceShowbiz - Carrie Underwood has released her first music video since her gruesome accident last year. Released in the Sunday, May 6 episode of "American Idol", the music video for "Cry Pretty" features the songstress showing off her vulnerable side.

The nearly four-and-a-half-minute visuals sees Carrie performing the song in front of a huge crowd, putting on her brave face. But when she goes back to her hotel, she is seen crying to the point of ruining her makeup. One particular scene shows her going to the shower to let the water wash away her pain.

"You can pretty lie and say it's okay/ You can pretty smile and just walk away/ Pretty much fake your through anything/ But you can't cry pretty," she sings. "You can't turn off the flood when the dam breaks/ When all your mascara is going to waste/ When things get ugly, you just gotta face/ That you can't cry pretty."

"Cry Pretty" was released on April 11 and serves as the first single and title track off her forthcoming album, which is due out on September 14. Carrie debuted live performance of the song at the 2018 Academy Country Music Awards on April 15 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. She received a standing ovation at the end of her performance.

Carrie previously said that the song "refers to when emotions take over and you just can't hold them back." The mother-of-one added, "It really speaks to a lot of things that have happened in the past year and I hope when you hear it, you can relate those feelings to those times in your life. It's emotional. It's real. And it ROCKS!"

Additionally, the country singer will embark on a tour in support of the album. Details of the tour have yet to be unveiled, but she hinted that she would announce it on her blog soon.
