Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige addresses the rumors of Black Cat being the possible femme fatale in the upcoming 'Spider-Man' sequel.

AceShowbiz - Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has set the record straight after rumors running rampage that a femme fatale will appear in "Spider-Man: Homecoming 2". Rumors suggest that the femme fatale may be Black Cat. However, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige shuts down the rumors in a new interview.

During the interview, Feige addresses the rumors of Marvel casting a femme fatale character, which is believed to be Black Cat, for the upcoming movie. Feige explains, "No, that was, uh, that, that was a misleading minor casting search. None of those rumors are true at all."

Previously, it was rumored that Marvel Studios sought a 20-something-year-old European actress to play a femme fatale. The character that suits for the position can be one of "Spider-Man" supporting characters, which are Silver Sable or Black Cat.

Besides, there were also rumors saying that there was an audition tape suggesting that Marvel was casting Gwen Stacy. Now that Feige shuts the rumors down regarding Black Cat's appearance in the sequel, it is unclear whether or not Gwen Stacy, who has love affair with Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man as in the original movie, will appear in "Spider-Man: Homecoming 2".

One certain thing is that the sequel will take place around the world and that the filming will start in "early July." Feige previously said, "We film in London. We shot first film in Atlanta. And we shoot a lot of films in London but there's another reason we're shooting in London which is, yes, Spidey, of course, will spend some time in New York, but he'll spend some time in other parts of the globe."

Regarding the movie's plot, it will be heavily affected by what will happen in "Avengers 4" that will bow in March next year. Another thing which is certain is the fact that the sequel will see the return of several actors, including Tom Holland who will play the titular character, Zendaya Coleman who will portray Michelle "MJ" Jones, and Jacob Batalon who is cast as Peter's best friend Ned.

"Spider-Man: Homecoming 2" is set to be released on July 5, 2019 in the United States.

"Homecoming" aside, Sony is developing a "Spider-Man: Homecoming" spin-off "Untitled Silver Sable and The Black Cat Project". The movie will feature Spider-Man allies Silver Sable and Black Cat teaming up. Gina Prince-Bythewood directs the spin-off based on a new script written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Lindsay Beer.
