If the actress agrees to take on the role, she will be joined by Morgan and Tiffany Haddish on the comedy series.

AceShowbiz - Funnyman Tracy Morgan has tentatively landed Whoopi Goldberg to play his onscreen mum in his new show "The Last O.G." after proposing the idea on live TV. The former "30 Rock" star was promoting the comedy series on the "Ghost" actress' daytime talk show "The View" on Monday, April 23 when he named the Oscar winner as his dream casting.

"We just got picked up for a second season. I know who I want to play my mums (sic)," he said, looking over at Whoopi. It didn't take long for the movie veteran to agree, responding, "OK, you got a commitment. Listen, I'm in!"

An official deal has yet to be signed, but if the role does come to fruition, Whoopi will join Tracy and co-star Tiffany Haddish on the show, which was co-created by "Get Out" writer/director Jordan Peele.

Peele is likely to jump at the opportunity to land Goldberg for the series, as he recently explained how her 1991 Academy Awards acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actress had inspired him to dream big as a child. In fact, she was one of the first people he called to thank after landing his 2017 horror film earned him a Best Director Oscar nod, a prize he went on to win.

"I lost it... because it's not something I think about all the time...," Peele recalled in February. "She said, 'Look, thank you, sometimes you put something out there, and you don't know if someone's hearing it or not'. It was just one of the best calls I've ever had."
