Andrea Constand firmly denies when asked if she manufactured her claims against the actor.

AceShowbiz - Bill Cosby's accuser Andrea Constand is defending herself against allegations she falsely accused the star of rape. Constand was cross-examined on Monday, April 16 as the embattled comedian's defense team sought to expose her as a con artist. One of several women to come forward with allegations against Cosby, she alleges the star drugged and molested her at his Philadelphia home in 2004.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, she was asked by Cosby's lawyer Tom Mesereau if she manufactured her claims against him, and responded with a firm denial.

Her mother Gianna Constand was also asked to take the stand, and confirmed her daughter's story. She also revealed she had a phone conversation with Cosby about a year after the alleged act of sexual misconduct took place and maintains he described the incident in graphic detail before apologising.

"He said to me, 'Don't worry, Mom, there was no penile penetration,' " Gianna Constand shared with the court.

Cosby, 80, has denied any acts of non-consensual sexual activity. The veteran comedian's first court case ended in a mistrial in June 2017, but prosecutors vowed to retry him. He has since pleaded not guilty to three charges of aggravated indecent assault.

Constand received a $3.4 million settlement from the actor in a civil lawsuit in 2005.
