Meghan's family, including her mother Doria Ragland and father Thomas Markle, are expected to travel across the pond to attend the private ceremony.

AceShowbiz - Prior to walking at the altar with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle is set to be baptized as an Anglican. The fiancee of the British prince, who was raised Protestant and attended a Catholic school, will be baptized this month at Kensington Palace in a private ceremony.

While she doesn't have to be an Anglican to marry Harry, it is said that the former "Suits" actress opts to be baptized ahead of her May 19 wedding to Harry to respect Queen Elizabeth II, who is the head of the Church of England. The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, will officiate the ceremony.

Meghan's family, including her mother Doria Ragland and father Thomas Markle, will travel across the pond to attend the ceremony. As Thomas, who was divorced from Doria two years after getting married, lives in Mexico, this upcoming event marks the first time for him to meet Prince Harry and the rest royal family. Meanwhile, Doria will fly to England from California.

Doria and Thomas are expected to be present at the upcoming nuptials for Harry and Meghan. Back in November, the pair shared in the joy of their daughter's engagement to the prince in a joint statement. "We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry. Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents," Thomas and Doria said at the time. "We wish them a lifetime of happiness," they added, "and are very excited for their future together."

Previously, the Archbishop of Canterbury said that the Church of England had "dealt with" Meghan's previous divorce. "It's not a problem," he said. "The Church of England has clear rules with dealing with that and we've dealt with that. We went through that as anyone would who will officiate at a wedding where someone has been separated and a partner is still living."

Meghan previously married film producer Trevor Engelson, who is Jewish, in 2011. Citing "irreconcilable differences," the former spouses filed for divorce in 2013.
