AceShowbiz - Baek Ji Young's husband Jung Suk Won has been arrested for alleged drug use. The actor was detained upon his return from Australia to Korea at the Incheon Internation Airport on Wednesday night, February 8 local time.
A representative from Seoul Metropolitan Policy Agency confirms in a statement, "We arrested Jung Suk Won last night (February 8 KST), 8 PM approximately at the Incheon International Airport for drug use and is currently under investigation."
The police were tipped that Jung Suk Won used Philopon, a form of methamphetamine, while visiting a bar in Australia. A source from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency reveals that Jung Suk Won's liver was tested and the results showed that he tested positive for drug use.
The 32-year-old actor reportedly has admitted to parts of the drug charges. He was investigated on how he obtained the drug, how many times he used it and complicity with any other person among other things related to the case.
His agency C-JeS Entertainment addresses the issue in a statement, saying, "Hello, this is C-JeS Entertainment. We will discuss the situation regarding the reports about Jung Suk Won getting arrested for drug charges. Jung Suk Won is currently being investigated by the police for drug usage. He is being investigated on whether he used drugs while drinking with a friend last week during his vacation in Australia."
"As the investigation is ongoing, we ask that you refrain from writing speculative reports about something that has not been confirmed yet," the company adds. "We will address the situation following the investigation and the police announcement."
Baek Ji Young, who tied the knot with the "Haeundae Lovers" star in 2013, is currently mulling over whether or not to hold her concert on Saturday, February 10 as planned.
The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in May 2017.
