A rep for the entertainment label says that there is a possibility that the eleven-piece South Korean boyband will extend their contract until January.

AceShowbiz - YMC Entertainment has responded to rumors of a possible extension of Wanna One's contract. While it is true that the South Korean boyband is in discussion to extend their contract, nothing has been decided yet.

"It is true that we brought up the possibility of holding their final concert, which was scheduled for December, in January instead," a rep for the entertainment label commented. "However, it was simply brought, and additional discussion has not been done yet."

The rep also denied rumors saying that the eleven-piece group might be extending their contract until February. The rep remarked that there "is no chance of a February disbandment. Even if there is an extension, it'll be in January," adding that the possibility of extension is not related to awards shows.

The boys' contract is set to end on December 31, 2018.

Wanna One was formed through South Korean survival reality show "Produce 101" and has been getting mass popularity since their debut. They ranked second in the 30 "Power People" survey by Ligan Sports for their influence among broadcasting companies and advertisers.

Their debut album, "1X1=1 (To Be One)", was a big success as it debuted at No. 3 on Billboard's World Albums chart and topped iTunes Top Albums chart in eleven countries. Its lead track "Emergency", on the other hand, ruled six domestic online music charts such as MelOn, Genie, Bugs, Naver and Soribada.

Following their success, it didn't come as a surprise when the group received many awards like Best New Male Artist and Best Male Group at the 2017 Mnet Asian Music Awards. They also recently took home Top Excellence for Concerts Award at the 5th annual E-Daily Culture Awards.

Taking to Twitter to thank their fans for the continuous support, they wrote, "We would like to thank everyone who came to see our performances. This award was made possible because of Wannables' utmost support! Thank you so much!"
