'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Lego Kits Confirm Redesigned Millennium Falcon

A range of toys based on the 'Star Wars' spin-off reveal new details about the film, including Kessel Run Millennium Falcon, a cross between Clone Troopers and Stormtroopers, and speeders.

AceShowbiz - "Solo: A Star Wars Story" apparently will have a redesigned Millennium Falcon. A selection of Lego sets allegedly based on the "Star Wars" spin-off have been released, revealing new details about the film as they include the mini version of Kessel Run Millennium Falcon as well as a cross between Clone Troopers and Stormtroopers, and speeders.

Should the toys be indeed based on the upcoming movie, the infamous 12-parsec starship, famously commanded by Corellian smuggler Han Solo and his Wookiee first mate, Chewbacca, will play a key role in the Ron Howard-directed film. Fans seemingly also get to see Imperial forces in the film, as a slightly redesigned TIE Fighter is spotted among the Lego sets.

In addition, the Lego boxes unveil other interesting details about the film. Aside from Han Solo's mini-fig, they feature mini-figs for Han's mentor Tobias Beckett, Qi'Ra, Quay Tolsite and DD-BD, seemingly confirming the names of new characters played by Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton and Phoebe Waller-Bridge respectively in the stand-alone flick.

"Solo: A Star Wars Story" is set to open in theaters across the United States on May 25. Themed as a space Western, the film centers on a young Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich), the roguish smuggler who later meets Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker in the Mos Eisley Cantina in "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" (1977), and his adventures with his Wookiee partner Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), including their encounter with Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover).

Principal photography began in January 2017 at Pinewoods Studios under the direction of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. But the pair left the project in June after reportedly being fired over "creative differences" with Lucasfilm. Following the duo's exit, Ron Howard, who stepped in to take over directing duties, allegedly had to reshoot "nearly all" of the film, doubling its budget.

"The reshoots ended up covering nearly all of 'Han Solo', all of the film, and potentially up to twice the budget," sources close to the production said last October. "We're hearing that [Howard] reshot potentially 80 percent or more of the movie."
