While Ailee belts out a rendition of 'One Step Closer' in honor of the late artist, the 'Monster' hitmakers sing 'Angel' to pay their respects to Jonghyun.

AceShowbiz - More stars have paid tribute to Jonghyun following the tragic passing of the South Korean singer. Among them are female solo artist Ailee and EXO. Ailee held a concert titled "HER" at Sejong University Hall on December 23. Closing the show, she sang her song "One Step Closer" in honor of the late singer.

Before she started belting out the song, Ailee, whose real name is Amy Lee, told the concertgoers that she usually ended her concert with a happy song, but she made an exception because of Jonghyun. In a fan-captured clip, she could be seen singing the song while playing the piano. "Keep it together my child/ Don't cry, dry your eyes," she sang. "Don't hide anymore/ Scream out loud/ Shout out you pain."

On the other hand, EXO paid tribute to Jonghyun during the group's concert in Fukuoka, Japan on December 22. The group sent out a message on big screens before the concert started in respect to the SHINee member. "Jonghyun who was full of passion for music and the stage has left out side," so the message read. "Jonghyun was a true artist, we love and miss you so much. We will remember you forever."

Leader Suho, who usually performs Jonghyun-penned track "Playboy" during concerts, decided not to belt out the song. Instead, towards the end of the concert, he stepped out to deliver a personal message for Jonghyun, saying that the group would "sing 'Angel' hoping that our beloved Jonghyun will be at peace and comfort. This will be the last song of today. Thank you."

Jonghyun passed away at 27 after being found unconscious in a residential hotel. Police believed he died from inhaling toxic fumes as they found coal briquettes burnt on a frying pan upon arriving at the place. His funeral was held on December 21 with SHINee's Minho and Jonghyun's sister leading the procession. His other groupmates carried the casket along with Super Junior's Leeteuk, Lee Donghae and Eunhyuk.
