Eminem Makes Chart History as 'Revival' Debuts Atop Billboard 200

The latest effort marks the Detroit rapper as the first act in the chart history with eight albums debuting at No. 1 in a row.

AceShowbiz - Eminem nabs his eighth No. 1 album with his latest effort "Revival", which debuts atop the Billboard 200 chart. The set racked up 267,000 equivalent album units, including 197,000, in the week ending December 21, according to Nielsen Music.

The Detroit rapper is the first act in the history of Billboard 200 chart with eight consecutive chart entries to launch at No.1. "Revival" follows his last seven releases including "The Marshall Mathers LP" (2013), "Recovery" (2010), "Relapse" (2009) and more.

Additionally, the album, which was released on December 15 via Interscope Records, sets the third-largest sales week of 2017 among hip-hop albums. Ahead of it are Kendrick Lamar's "DAMN." (603,000 units) and Drake's "More Life" (505,000 units).

Back to the chart, Taylor Swift's "Reputation" stays steady at No. 2 with 133,000 units, while G-Eazy's "The Beautiful & Damned" arrives at No. 3 with 122,000 units. "The Beautiful & Damned", which is his third studio album, marks his third top 10 in a row, following "When It's Dark Out" (2015) and "These Things Happen" (2014).

Ed Sheeran's "Divide (division sign)" dips one spot to No. 4 with 90,000 units, and Pentatonix's "A Pentatonix Christmas" drops to No. 5 with 75,000 units. Another effort that debuts on this week's top 10 is Young Jeezy's "Pressure", which arrives at No. 6 with 72,000 units, including 54,000 in traditional album sales.

Meanwhile, Sam Smith's "The Thrill of It All" climbs one spot to No. 7 with 60,000 units. Last week's chart topper, Luke Bryan's "What Makes You Country", falls seven spots to No. 8 with 48,000 units.

Closing out this week's top 10 are Garth Brooks' "The Anthology: Part 1, The First Five Years", which returns to the top 10 with 46,000 units, and Chris Stapleton's "From a Room: Volume 2", which drops to No. 10 with 45,000 units.
